There are hundreds of events that we experience throughout our lives. Some are forgettable, such as what you had for breakfast last Tuesday; and some seem to form a more important part of our lives such as marriage or birth of children.
Since are memories are not perfect, it can be difficult to fully understand how events in our lives form who we are today. Our identities are created by our experiences.
To help get some clarity over our identity it can be helpful to remind ourselves of our personal histories. That way we can see how important events in our lives have shaped who we are today.
